Over the last 28 years I have purchased all my wood working tools new and most them are from Delta Tools.
I purchased a band saw from Delta about 8 month ago and I need a part for it.checking with dealers or the internet,no luck ,I send e-mail to deltas main office,no answer, what is going on??? thus somebody know if
Delta is still around????
thank you for any help.

Still around is a relative thing. They got assimilated by Black and Pecker. Have you tried this website?

What part are you looking for? Part# if you have it, model number and part decription if nothing else. I still have a few contacts.

Hi
part# 28-181,band saw fence.
thank you for your help.
Jack.
Ok, checking over at erepalcementsparts.com and toolpartsdirect.com (they have schematics)there are some different things that could fit the bill. Here's a schematic of the fence (3rd page)
http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/delta/28-180You can use any one of the three sites to find the part you need.Do you need the whole thing, or just a part of it, because it doesn't appear anyone sells the entire thing anymore. I have a feeling you might have to go the aftermarket route like a Kreg fence or something.Brian
Try Mikes Tools.

Jack: Try 1-800-223-7278 & ask for Jack (in service tech). Where are you located?

Great to see the manuf's reading knots.com and supporting customers!
bww_ I'm not with Delta, it's just that they responded to my problem quickly. My TS was still under warranty and I had a noise problem which they are sending a repairman out to fix at my home!!!! I believe the person with the bandsaw problem should still be under warranty also & should get the same quick service.

Hi James S
thanks for your kind help, but I got the part already.Jack.
They seem to be having some issues with support lately. I got a drum sander and it was missing the crank wheel. I phoned Canadian customer support and kept getting connected to US customer support (i.e. they would pick up the phone). The US ladies were very nice and gave me a list of direct Canadian numbers for local support folk across the country. I dialed a few of those (most were no answers) until I got to talk to a human, in Canada, who was very helpful.
I suspect they have some issues with consolidating all the various businesses they bought.
As for email, I find that the overwhelming proprtion of companies do not respond to emails, unless sent to a specific person. I know this is shear idiocy, like advertising a telephone number and not returning calls, but I estimate 80% simply ignore such emails, probably because they don't assign responsibility to a specific person. It makes me crazy.
They are having a lot of problems lately. My friends who are in the tool business tell me that everyone is pissed off at Delta these days.Part of the problem is the disorganization that inevitably follows a large company acquisition and integration into another entity. The other side of this is that Delta was in design mode prior to the acquisition in an attempt to refresh their product lines and better compete with Jet/Powermatic, and to some degree Steel City (which despite having tackled the manufacturing side, still seems to lack distribution breadth). When BD completed the acquisition they put the brakes on new product design, which makes it tougher for retailers who depend on a stream of new products to excite consumers. I am not optimistic about Delta's prospects under BD.
Hello Woodman41,after some 28 years of delta tools,no more for me.
