My workshop is our two car garage, and my workbench is against one wall with just enough room to squeeze the car in at the end of the day. Is there an option for mounting a front vice that can be detached at the end of the work session without too much trouble?

Something like this may work for you.
I have two positions with 3/8" t-nuts built in where a small vise is positioned with 3/8" threaded studs/knobs on one of my auxiliary benches. I added what appears to be a large wood chop (because the vise is small) to support dogs.
Was hoping to have a vice with its top level with the workbench.
Thanks, GeeDubBee, that’s an interesting solution that I’ll pursue.
Can you fit a vise on the end of the bench, rather than the front? That won't hinder the car getting by.
Another option is to use a cheap cast iron vice.
These usually have only one exposed jaw, which is pulled up against the apron of the workbench. The other (if there is one) is placed behind the apron.
There is nothing to stop you having a removable apron segment.
that way, if you pull out the chunk of apron, your vice will be able to go in all the way. You can pick up old record vices with quick release triggers and as they have a big grip depth, you won't really miss the extra 2 inches.
This way, you only have to 'demount' the extra bit of apron, rather than the whole vice, which will allow it to be more sturdy than a removable option.
You will have to shim the removable piece so it is in line with the rest of the bench apron, but it will still be better than something you remove.
The quick-release is necessary though as you may otherwise have difficulty closing and opening the vice when it is in the stowed position.
I've seen patternmaker's vices where the primary connection to the bench is hinged. If they are still being made the entire vise could flip oup over the bench.
A more practical solution is to get a smaller car.
I would rearrange everything in order to fit properly. Organizing everything can be a challenge since the space is limited and you have to use every inch. I am really grateful for having an entire room for tools and a place to work. My latest purchase was from https://swindens.co.uk and I've managed to fit it on a corner since I am able to rotate it. These days, companies come up with so many ideas regarding organizing space, that is almost impossible to not find something that fits your place.
How about a Moxon Vise
