coleman fule is white gas. Not alcohol based. Coleman fuel is more related to mineral spirits then denatured alcohol
Yea that's right. It's a petrolium byproduct. Thanks.
Ken,
The reference on the can to stove fuel is for it's use in small unpressurized heaters like those used by caterers to keep food warm at buffets. Sterno fuel is alcohol mixed with a jelling material to make it easier to handle. The primary use for denatured alcohol is to dilute shellac and certain dyes. It will keep forever in a sealed can.
John
It is also used in alcohol stoves and ovens used on boats and rec vehicles. It is safer than propane because the fumes are lighter than air and do not concentrate in the bilge or other low points and fires can be extinguished with water.
Ken
Coleman fuel is essentially refined Napatha.
