DEsperately need advice all Kitchen doors and Drawers Crackled from bad remodeling job
Need help,
I had a kitchen remodeler highly recommened to me by Sherwin Williams. He was to clean my cabinets that already had glaze on and paint and reglaze. He stated that he used a 747 industrial degrease,r a scott brite pad then a dewax Bulleyes shellac primer clear coat then acrylic laquer. All Of my cabinets came out crackled they look terrible. He is blaming it on me stating I put wax on them. I did use a mini clear paste wax on a few that were on kitchen drwers and cabinets that was used alot but not on all. All of my cabinets doors and drawers are crackled and ruined. He nows has $1600 of my money that he refuses to give back beause he clearly state not his fault.
What could have happen to cause all this crackling?
Please need help.

Waxing after repainting does not cause a finish to crack.

Crackled Cabinet and Drawers in Kitchen
HI Weshester,
Do you have a clew what may have caused this?
Causes
There can be numerous issues but lets assume they did do the steps as noted by washing, sanding, sealing etc. A cause could be outdated product, improper dry times between applications - or the two differnet finishes (existing + new) don't react the same to climatic conditions...... expanding - contracting differently. These are just guesses sight unseen !

I don't think that putting wax on cabinets ruined its look. Now you can get the help of furniture repairing experts to find the main cause behind it. They can give a better solution for it.
some other causes
Probably what he used to remodel your cabinets were not compatible to the temperature and humidity in your place.
