   If I understand your problem,Woodcraft sells graphite canvas by the roll.Cut a piece to fit and apply to the spring steel platen on the machine.Mine has a metal bar and 3 flat head screws for attaching.put the canvas under the bar and over the steel platen. Makes a great difference in sanding quality.Thank you,Mr.Croney,where ever you may be.

   I've found ready made platens for Bosch at the local store. I'd rather just bolt one on instead of making one.
