Hello: I bought a Betterley insert for my DeWalt and it doesn’t clear the factory splitter. Betterley says (after sending them pictures) that my splitter is likely non-standard. DeWalt says that is not very likely. It looks like the picture in the manual. There is enough meat on the splitter to remove the 1/2” or so that would fix the fit but wanted to run it by you all first. The insert is a beauiful piece of equipment, rock solid, no play or wobble.

I have the same set-up, and have the same fit problem. I can get it to fit by pivoting the splitter back slightly, while lifting it a slight amount from the front mounting stud. Since the splitter is not a precision manufactured part, and there is a little slop in the mounting, I would guess Betterley used a sample of one to manufacture the insert. Alternately, your idea of grinding the splitter in the contact area should also work just fine. Otherwise, I also agree completely with you about the insert. It is well made and fits very well.
