I choose the DeWALT DW718 Sliding Compound Miter Saw for the carpenters shop at work. Has anyone used this new saw from DeWALT. I choose it because of it’s capacities in cutting, 16″ crosscut all but retires the old radial arm saw IMO.

I checked out 3 of them in 3 different stores. Each of them was difficult to get moving and the head was too loose for me. I ended up getting a Makita slider instead. Sold my 12+ year old DeWalt CMS for $185 and am a happy camper! I found the earlier DW to be easier to slide and not quite as loose as the 718, but still no match for the Makita.
Come on , folks, what do you all know about this saw? Amazon has a sale going on for two more days, and I'm about to pull the trigger to get the $110 off any saw over $500.
It's between this saw and the Bosch 12" slider. Help!!!
Decisions, decisions. Sigh.
