I just added a DeWalt DW746 table saw to the shop. I needed another more mobile saw to add short term setups and speed work flow.
I was skeptical. I’m a huge DeWalt fan (yes, I run board after board through my new 735 planer and it’s the best mobile planer I’ve ever used, and I’ve had a few) but I’ve never thought of DeWalt as a “Table Saw” company. I’m a Jet, Delta, General, Powermatic, you get it, kind of guy.
Anyway, I did my research and the reviews said it was the best out there, in the semi-mobile category (actually they call it a hybrid, because it’s a mix between a cabinet and a contractors saw). So I got one.
Excellent machine. Smooth, quiet. The fence is totally rock solid.
If you’re looking, stop. This is a value for the price.
thnx

I was a bit skeptical about the DeWalt saw until I ran into a guy at Lowe's one time, and he started gloating about his. Had a small garage workshop, so needed the mobility. Was in the midst of building "a houseful" of furniture with his DW746 and was quite happy with it.
Thanks for giving us the heads-up.

Scottd,
I upgraded to the Dw746 from the DW744 about 2 years ago and have had only success with it. Mine is built into a 7' X 8' work table with enough room in front to rip an 8' sheet of plywood. Except for the small dust collection port 2.5" it's been very good to me so far.
