Hi to all,
I need help on how to use a “1” travel machinist’s Dial Indicator”.
THe one I got is one from HF:

What is the function of the top knob?
The little black clamps, I would say is for repetitive measurements?
How to zero the little scale ?
Thanks and sorry for my ignorance on this tool.

On my dial indicator, you loosen the knob on top and turn the metal frame and face until the "0" is lined up with the needle. I do not have the little markers you mention. These are for setting the max. and min readings you want. Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot, that'w what I thought...I guess each turn would be 1/10 of an inch...
