Despite the ergonomic issue, I’ve noticed there doesn’t seem to be any standards in chair dimensions such as depth, width, seat height, back height, armrest height… Are there dimensional relationships such as if the seat is X high, then armrests should be at least Y high, or, if seat is W deep the backrest should be Z high? Were can I find information on the topic? Thanks for the feedback.

There is a rule of thumb when it comes to ergonomics of furniture and there are books out there that address this issue directly.
I Googled on "chair construction design ergonomics" and the results indicated there certainly are guiding principles for this. I only looked at page 1 of the results, and saw references to design courses. If you took the time to go through several pages of results, you might find the info you need. Or, you might think of a better search string to use.

give http://info.com a shot. It's a ressurected cumulative search engine which includes google, dogpile, Ask Jeeves, etc. Nice to see some competition again.
Of the 12 engines, Google was definately the best for "chair construction design ergonomics".
