I am building a dining table that is 70″ long by 42 ” wide cherry 13/16 thick . The aprons are 4″ and the joinery is M&T. My question is do I need a middle (inside apron). My top overhangs 4″ at the ends and 2″ on the sides. |

Hi,
I think you need at least one stretcher spanning the two long aprons. It’s not so much for support as it is for restraint on the top. You’ll be able to add more buttons, table top fasteners, figure 8's, whatever you’re using to hold the top down flat. Best of luck. Gary
Thanks Gary, I thought so. i am using buttons.
