A couple days ago I posted a question about installing exterior shingle siding. Today I find my question is no longer listed. Just wondering if I did something wrong or it was a stupid question, which the one response I did read seemed to indicate?

Norm... the thread's still there and the answers given seem valid enough; breaktime is the forum for constrction folk... bound to get a more informed answer there...
Hit the link at the top of the page... and don't worry, their bark's way worse than their bite.. ;) well.... most of the time...

Like Mike said it's still there but it sort of drops back unless there is current activity on the question. Every time someone responds it keeps it on the top of the page. I didn't read Jako's response as if you asking a stupid question. He was just telling you that this forum is geared toward furniture making and carpentry questions are geared toward Fine Homebuilding's forum called breaktime. It's a good idea to look around a site and get familiar it first. Many sites set the forums up differently so it takes some getting used to. It's good to learn to search the site and figure out how to access the archives as there are typically new people asking old questions so many of the answers are already posted and there are so many woodworking forums out there.
Norm ,You missed the face at the end of the message! Many people on this forum have put up ceder shingles including myself 24 inch Royals I think they were called. But the guys who do it professionally hang on Breaktime so you will get more, and probably better advice there. One thing you might ask about is an open weave material rather similar to scotchbrite that I have seen used under ceder roof shingle applications.I believe this is to allow the shingles to breathe
