I have cut 2 sets of legs for an upcoming project all out of one piece of 10/4 Red Oak to match the grain, but as I planed deeper into two of the legs I found a deep brown color that was only in the poors of the wood. It appears to be some of fungus killed by the kiln drying process. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?
Personally I’d keep it, but as said above its for a client.

Archie ,
Not sure what you have run into there , but you could try wood bleach . Let it dry and do its job before you wash it off with water to neutralize the bleach , then after completely drying sand to knock the raised grain down .
good luck dusty
