Hi all,
I’m very new to woodworking and am trying my first coffee table. I’ve got a nice pine slab but when purchased there was an adhesive sticker on the side I’d like to have as the top. The area where the sticker was is a lighter colour then the rest of the slab. I’ve attached a photo. What’s the best way to get rid of this lighter area so the wood is consistent throughout? Thanks for the help!

Plane or sand the whole board. The wood not covered by the sticker has oxidized a bit.
Yep. Oxidation. Sand it until it evens out. If you leave it, it will even out by itself.
