In my 3 year old house, one piece of pine trim has sap oozing. I can’t replace the piece because the trim was finished by a furniture refinisher who used dye and lacquer to make the pine look like cherry, and I can’t match it. It’s a beautiful finish. Besides, I lost my job and am selling the house in a couple of weeks, so I want to do something fast.
What can I use which will wipe away the sap which will not hurt the lacquer finish?

One thing which comes to mind is mineral spirits. I know that it shouldn't harm the lacquer finish and it should make a dent in the sap. Water under the bridge, but a wash coat of shellac before finishing the pine would have helped keep the sap under control.
Try it first in an out of the way place to make sure it won't react with your finish.

Thanks. I'll do a test with mineral spirits.
If there are other suggestions, I'm open.
All fixed. I used a putty knife to gently remove the globs. Then denatured alcohol dissolved the sap instantly, without harming the lacquer one bit. Thanks for your help.
