Well here is a SPAM that isn’t a SPAM because I am not a spammer.
I am a hand tool woodworker and I just came across this super well organized on line slice of Heaven. If you have been to some of the other tool supplier sites like SnapOn or Sears you will get so frustrated with their silly site that you just want to throw your computer out a second story window. These guys did it right !
PS: I got there from Rob Cosman’s hand tool school so I might as well be fair and plug that. I am not sure I am joining yet but a great idea for those who are trying to learn. I am way out in what I call “The Wild Wild West” and it seams everything is happening in the East. It sure helps to see somebody actually doing instead of just reading a book and then trying to imagining how to do the thing. I take a lot of notes so that was how I learned but I am getting off the subject now.
Check those out.
PS: Last night I just read that Roy Underhill used to live out here. He lived in Colorado and in New Mexico. He went back East though. Just some useless trivia.
PPS: Speaking of Roy Underhill , does any body know, is there a grand set of his books that one can get (maybe at a price break and complete) or do I just need to piece a set together one at a time.

Imagination
I have a good imagination. Imagining shipping costs for heavy tools from the UK, however, may be beyond my capability. ;-)
Hmmmmm . . . (I di'nah see that)
hmmmmmm
Well they SAY it is "attractive" so that means it is cheep and stuff right ?
Our UK shipping rates are amongst the best you will find. Many of our customers are from abroad because we pass on our attractive shipping rates to you so you get the best tools delivered at the best price.
What the heck . . . I am going to go ahead and recommend that you order something from them and tell us how it goes.
( : )
Learning
I learned a technique from the recent discussion of (boutique) Japanese chisels:
Hey, Roc, can I borrow $1,000? I want to buy $100 worth of tools from that UK supplier. ;-)
FWIW, I did buy a (light weight) darkroom enlarging meter from a UK manufacturer a few years back. It arrived quickly through British Post with no import hassles.
Wellleeelll . . .
I would like to lend you the money but I am saving up for your Christmas present and . . .
I want to get you some thing . . . Ckluhck ! ! ! . . . . R E A L L L Y nice Clark . . .
I mean Ralph.

Dear cousin Eddie
I really appreciate your consideration, but, uh, gee, I don't know what to say. ;-)
Are You Surprised ?
One of the guys at work said we need to get all these other dumb holidays out of the way so we can start watching Christmas Vacation over and over. I kinda can relate. I L O V E this movie. (though I resisted it for years ).
Queenmasteroftheuniverseandbabybunnytrainer refuses to watch it with me. Once was enough. More than enough to hear her tell it.

film appreciation
I probably fall into the "once-was-enough" crowd, as well. Not being a huge fan of Chevy Chase, I don't think this film reaches the level of the Christmas Classics like "Miracle on 34th Street" or "It's a Wonderful Life". But, even those I resist re-watching more than every fifth year, or so.
You might try adding special popcorn to the experience as an added inducement for Queenmasteroftheuniverseandbabybunnytrainer.
Special Pop Corn
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha
As the BOYS at work would say :
That's
AAAAA A A A W S O M E ! ! ! !
never touch the stuff myself. You could say I am just a naturally special kind of guy. Q has other words for it.
If you didn't care for Christmas Vacation then, under no circumstances, watch Scrooged. Nooooo I'm serious ! I resisted that one most emphatically for years as well.
In fact my official review of this movie can be read
here . . .
AAAAA A A A W S O M E ! ! ! !
I wish I had your will power I some times watch White Christmas three times each year. Just the song Love You Didn't Do Right By Me by Rosemary Clooney and the dance seen with Danny Key and Vera-Ellen on the dock are worth rewatching the movie for.
You're too late, Roc
I have already watched "Scrooged". Once. ;-)
You"re too late, Roc
Story of my life. Nah can't complain.
You watched it once. That was brave of you and you know what you like (and don't like).
Speaking of brave . . . do you think we will ever hear back from Janet the drill press person ?
The question I asked her could have been answered by either one of these :
one
or
two.
People must be more busy than I am. Don't they text all day long though ?
what ever.
I hate to leave you all alone here to answer questions but it could happen. You just may turn out to be "The Last Man Standing".
Take care.
Responses
She may be relying on getting e-mail notifications of responses, which only seems to work for a select few, not including me.
Could be
She has been here for at least a couple of years though. By now she has learned the email notification is _________
I was going to use a disgusting word there. Stuff one gets from the barn yard to put on the lawn to make the grass grow.
I know , before somebody starts telling me all the clicky things to click to make it happen. I can make it work if I really concentrate and find the right screens. More trouble than it is worth. I just look in every day.
I get notices from threads years old but not from recent threads. That's something I guess. That was back when I was trying. Goes without saying I always get notices from The Burl. Without effort on every damned post I make.
Bing-bong
How ironic that I should get an e-mail notification from The Burl while reading your post.
