I have had the trimmer for years and used it a lot but cannot find any history. Made by The Smith and Edge Mfg Co, Bridgeport, Conn. It’s the sort of tool you use frequently until you realise that it’s getting harder to lift on and off the bench so perhaps it would be best if your wife did the lifting.
Does anyone have any info please?

What kind of trimmer is it? I'm sorta near bridgeport and have collected tools and not familiar with the company offhand. You talking miter type trimmer?
Yes it's Lion type (see photo ) but may predate them, I do not know. I practice lifting a 56lb weight to keep in trim for lifting it but am righthanded so look like a deformed Popeye.
Do let me know if you learn anything. Thanks.
Mufti,I think youre refering to Lion Miter Trimmer. Used to have one; great for slicing miters to exactness. Steinmetz

Now I dare not let her see that image! See other post for trimmer.
