Hey there everyone.
I build stave drums (hand percussion) and have been doing so for a while. A friend of mine helped me with a way to use plywood instead of 1 by 3s to cut down on waste and time spent per drum. Problem is I cannot get my staves to turn out correct.
The finished stave should be 24 inches long, 2 inches at the top, and 1 inch at the bottom. I use 18 staves so the angle on the side is 10 degrees. I picked up the Micro Jig (linked below) to help with the process and it is AWESOME. Problem is that I cannot get a stave to come out with the right rise over run. I have the jig set at 3/4″ rise over run … which I THOUGHT would have been right considering the shape and size stave I want.
The idea is to use a piece of plywood by making a cut, flip the plywood, make a cut, flip again, and so on. Very little waste and much less time. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

It seems to me that the run would be 1/2 inch since the difference between the top and bottom is 1 inch and they are 24 inches long. Since there are 18 staves, the angle would be 5 degrees for each side.
Too much math for me but I admire your skill and desire to build musical instruments :)
