I own the Leigh DT jig and given it is a complicated jig it is user friendly. The more you use it the quicker it becomes second nature. I figured out how to use the jig fairly quickly and if I need a refresher course I refer to the owners manual. This manual is fantastic, not only is it clearly written and the pictures are also fantastic. The pictures alone will refresh your memory. The only other thing which will make life easier is having two routers, one for the DT bit and the other for the straight bit. When it comes to cutting Blind DT I prefer using a plunge router for I have more accuracy in adjusting the bits depth -- its the depth of the DT bit which makes or breaks this joint.
If you could be more specific then I could give you more info about the Leigh jig, my input anyway.
A sharp chisel and saw work pretty d... good. Little bit cheaper too!
Hi, STRONGBO1 I own a leigh dt jig ,and yes it can be complicated at times , the owners manual is user freindly. I suggest you see the demo vidio tape, it will show you how easy it is to use. its versatality is what makes it complex, I think its by far the best dovetail jig on the market.
regards mark cherry.
