Hi Meezo,
Is this the plugin I wrote about in my Design. Click. Build. blog entry? Try running it in an empty drawing. I think you'll see what's happening. The plugin doesn't apply the dovetails to a selected edge. It draws them starting at the global origin and working up. Even if you have a component open for editing, the dovetails are drawn outside the component at the origin.
Go back and work through my blog post as it details how to use the plugin.

I am also having some trouble with this plug-in, although a different issue then the one originally posted.
I am trying to make finger joints that are spaced 1/8". Everytime I run the plug-in I get one finger that is 1/8" and the other that is 3/32" and I cannot figure out if I am doing something incorrectly or the plug-in has a glitch.
I have attached what I am getting and what values I am entering. You may noticed that the 'Overall Length' box is set to 2 1/16. This was the only way to get the actual length of may piece, which is 2 1/8. If I set the length to 2 1/8, I get an overall length of 2 1/4 and fingers that are 1/8 and 7/64.
Any ideas?
Frank
The plugin is centering the number of fingers (tails in the plugin) between the "end pins". If you change the "End Pin Length" to 1/8" instead, you'll get fingers and spaces that are each 1/8" wide. This will leave you with a half pin or space at each end of the run but that is easily dealt with.
Thanks!
You're welcome. I was tired last night when I wrote that and see that I made an error in my typing. Make the End Pin Length 1/16" instead of 1/8". Sorry about the mix up.
