Looking for one of those plates with holes you drive a dowel through to flute it- L-N doesn’t carry them anymore, nor do the other places I’ve checked- Anybody know who currently carries them? Thanks-

Here's where I get in trouble. If you need it for long term for serious work, go to your local serious tool dristributor and ask the counter person to look up a hardened dowel sizing or dowel fluting plate on his computer from his many suppliers. If it is for casual use, try home despot, sears or the blue box, I have seen them there from general tool or irwin, I think. Good luck, Pat
Pat- Thanks for your reply- I found one at Woodcraft, looks like it'll take care of me- Thanks again-
Yogi,
Get a piece of aluminum plate scrap. Drill a hole nearly the size of the dowel. Cut little marks inop the edge of the hole with a small file so as to make a starburst patern. Put the plate in a vise and pound your dowel through it.
Thanks Biscardi- I found one at Woodcraft, inexpensive, multiple dowel sizes, all I need- Thanks again-
