Delta, shop fox and PSI all make small bench top down draft tables you could connect to your dust collector. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=br_ss_hs/104-9388495-2387954?search-alias=tools&keywords=downdraft%20table) Has anyone had good experiences with any of these? Are they worth it? I wonder if their fancy internal baffles make them more efficient than a 2×4 frame with a peg board top. It would be nice to have something light weight to put up on the bench when needed.

Hi I bought the Delta from Lowes this past July, it also came with a $10 or $20 store gift card.I mounted it in a drawer under a work bench, the height is more comfortable for me sanding. I have it hooked up to a shop vac w/a 2 1/2" hose it seems to do a good job of pulling the dust in. I use a 5" disc and 4" pad sander so far. I didn't use my belt sander yet.
Thanks for the reply. I like the mounting idea, is this just a regular drawer with full extension slides on the side? Do you find that it is stiff enough when sanding parts?
Thanks,
Dave
Hi Dave
I did use full extension slides rated at 100 # I made the drawer sides, front & back out of 3/4" ply. It sturdy for my use. I have been making birdhouses lately for therapy,I am out on disability right now, so to keep my mind and hands busy for now.
