Seems like I recently saw a recommended list of various handsaws, which included both push and pull type saws. Seems like I recall Dozuki being on the list, but does anyone else recall such a list on Knots or in a magazine — or am I dreaming? The saws may have been part of a larger list of something.
Thanks,

Alan, there's a tool review of these in the latest FWW annual of "Tools and Shops".

ring,
Thanks for the tip. The memory chips have been crowded out by the wood chips. Now, what did you say was the name of that magazine? I gotta get this short term memory component replaced. Or the batteries at least.
I did look through it and also saw the whole article on pull saws. That is what I was remembering -- just forgetting where it was.

Buy the dozuki!!!I have never been so happy(well maybe not quite that good)as I when I starrted using japan saws. They are so much smoother both in cut and operation. It gives you a whole new level of control. Yes, you can cut off that 1/16 that you left to long, no you don't have to kneel on the board, or clamp it tight. I have 5 lovely western hand saws hanging on my wall, but my japan saw does all my work. Lee Valley sells good japan saws, for good prices. Try one.
