Drawers with Frame and Panel Fronts
Hi Don,
I would suggest building a complete drawer box with through dovetails then applying the frame and panel front to the finished drawer box. This method would give the appearance of half blind dovetails while producing a stronger joint.

Hi Don,
Yes, I would certainly keep wood movement in mind ,especially for large drawers. I would suggest attaching the front to the box at the midpoint in height (with screws from inside the box) allowing the box to expand from the middle out . This would limit the amount of expansion to half of the total movement in either direction. If you feel more screws are needed out from the center , make their pathway slotted.
I would also make the frame and panel fronts at least 1/8" higher than the box (1/16" at the top and 1/16" at the bottom) - keeping the box from view when it expands.
