I am amazed at the response to this sale offer! Some of you guys sound like a pack of jealous hyaenas. I mean, how can Philip simply write it off , saying it is overvalued?? Can we see some figures from him to support this ? There is no shaper, cries a petulant voice….
As for me , I would take the contents of that shop long before one twice the area packed with things like grizzlies, frizzleys, wood masters/misers, shop mates/chinas/smiths jonesand all those things flimsily made from sheet metal and lookalike “cast iron”. Man, those machines were made in the U.S and Sweden long ago when cast iron was good hard and heavy and the resulting machines can be found all over the world still working well, and will still be alive long after the above -mentioned things have collapsed.
I am left wandering why the man is selling- could it be due to bad health? If I lived within reach I would at least have had an inspection of the stuff . I suspect some of those who made disparaging comments would not know what to do with that equipment if they got hold of it- or maybe they could just use the Hitachi chop saw?
Oh well, I belong to the old school I suppose, so if offence is taken so be it- but I will continue to get pleasure and good results from machines of the same ilk as those on that sale.

Hey Mook,
In general, I will agree with you on the "good old American cast iron" rule of thumb. One place where you slipped up though, is lumping Woodmaster in with the "Grizzleys and Frizzleys" import catagory.
Woodmaster is, and has always been, American made. Woodmaster, is an outgrowth of the old Foley Belsaw line, which was probably making sawdust when your grandfather was working.
Sorry to nitpick, but I felt the good folks in Kansas City, Mo were getting a bum rap. You owe it to yourself to check out thier products. Who knows? you might end up with a drum sander. I did.

Sorry for that, Tms, I think there is more than one Woodmaster- I have experience of some Woodmaster stuff that was made in China-and it wasnot good. No harm meant.
Hey, No harm, no foulTom
