Can anyone recommend an at least a 6 inch drillbit extender for a brad point bit that has a 3/8 inch round shank? I want to make a jig (Peter Galbert idea) that will allow me too drill some angled holes, ranging from 10 to 30 degrees, in the mid rail (flat 2” by 1 and 3/4” material) of a spindle bowed headboard. There’s numerous online versions that don’t have enough details/pictures to feel confident in a choice. Thanks so much.

Bit extenders can sometimes introduce some wobble. Also, they usually tighten using set screws, which can slip.
You may be better getting extra long brad point bits, which are available at many sites.
Finding an extender that is a smaller or equal diameter than the 3/8 " bit is going to be a trick if that's what you need it for. The hole for a Brad point or a forstner is 5/16" so that's leaves not much meat if it's to follow into a 3/8" hole. Who would make that? Machined properly (as in the price you pay) they shouldn't necessarily have a wobble though...6 " isn't very long.
You may be able to find a long bit , forstner i dont know but-you can certainly find it in a ship auger and i have a couple of pretty long brad points.
Would something like this work instead? Might eliminate the need for the woobly extender.
I think Kyle Barton makes what you want. Check out bbcustomtools.
I had a similar need and, as EdWeber suggested, I bought a long (10") Fisch brad point drill bit from Rockler and it worked beautifully.
Check out Chris Schwarz blog and Crucible Tool. https://blog.lostartpress.com/2022/07/23/more-new-tools-on-the-way/ They have a new bit extender coming out
Collet extenders don't introduce wobble, but they still increase the diameter. Depending on what you're drilling, this may be problematic. Also, the price of some of these items and at certain sellers can be high for a specialty tool.
Thanks for all the great responses; a lot of options to check. I’ll probably get a long bit, weighing price of one time use vs extender that could be used with multiple bits in the future.
Longer bits are handy. I have some 6" and 12" in brad points. Forstner bit extenders would fit your 3/8" shank. Check Peachtree for the extender.
lamp auger?
Well! You might need to rethink extenders as they won’t work well with cylindrical (round) shanks. Extenders are suitable for hex bits. You can try exposing more shank to see if that works. Or, as others suggested, go for a new drill bit as the extender might not serve your required purpose right.
