Anyone have any feedback on the Drill Doctor. I’m thinking of geting the top of the line one. Is this a quaility toll or a toy???

Cort,
I have the 750 version and use it alot. It sharpens bits form way small to 3/4. Sometimes bit is not seated right in machine which causes improper sharping. I always take a test cut after sharpening to make sure bit will cut. Diamond replacement wheel is about $20.00. Have had mine two or three years and have not changed wheel yet.
Hope this helps

I have the 500sp, sharpens up to 1/2" & it really does work well.
I had a 1/2" bit that was so bad that I ground it off square on my bench grinder, then put approximate angle on it, by eye, with the bench grinder. After that I ran it in the drill doctor for final shape & sharpening, I had a brand new bit after that!
It really lives up to its claims.

I got the one at lowes for I think $65, do not know the model. I should of bought it years ago. It so simple, nothing can go wrong. Very happy. The one I got will only do to 1/2 so it proberly the basic model. Price was a little high but it still worth it.
The best employee you can have but you wouldn't want him as a neighbor " He the shifty type"
$65.00, sounds like the one below mine, I'm not sure if the diamond wheel in yours is replaceable or if it's a throw away model.
Like you said , They are very simple to use. The Tormex reps talk them down as toys. I think because they haven't come up with a machine that works for drill bits yet.
The drill doctor is so simple that it's almost brilliant
Have a great day.
