Hi, I’m not in position to buy a drill press yet, so I’m looking at drill guides. Amazon’s best seller is from a company called Milescraft. Any reviews or recommendations? Thanks..

I went with the Big Gator tool offering:

I found it so useful I got the large one as well. There are just times when bringing the tool to the work is easier and (for us old guys) smarter. I just used the regular sized on yesterday. It sets in my drill index and is always handy.
I think he’s talking about the type of guide a drill mounts in. I have a couple Milescraft tools, a router circle jig and some clamps.
I would rate them as middle quality.
I’ve looked at them & there aren’t that many around but I’d probably lean toward the Wolfcraft.
That said, my Lowe’s carries some Milescraft jigs, if they have the guide, you can always return it.
Apologies if I missed the mark IrishBill and thanks to RobertEJr. I have tried many and would have to say in my humble opinion that none were "better than nothing". The amount of flex and ability to go 'off the path' you desire just really didn't make them helpful to me.
Your satisfaction will vary with use. Can you give an example of what you might use it for? This may get you better responses. My use case was for bits over 1/4", angled holes in solid wood parts for furniture making. For this I found standing a bevel gauge (a few bucks at the BORG) nearby set to the angle I was after and drill with a small drill motor to be a better solution.
I had one of those many years ago, before the days of cordless drills. I found it frustrating and sloppy, and got rid of it. I don't know if newer models are any better.
I have one that I rarely use. Mostly I'll use it for a "straight" pilot hole to guide the handheld drill that will follow on after it. I vote "better than nothing", but not by much.
Hmmm, I just bought a nice egg-beater and a brace/EBay , maybe I’ll just sharpen my *skills*
Bought a Milescraft from Milescraft. I have a drill press so I don't use it a lot, but I like it, especially if I need holes in something that won't fit on the drill press. Truthfully, I bought it after I bought the drill press. Anyhow, it's a trifle hard to hold in place but if I had to buy it again I would.
The Rockler version comes with a vise.
