Am planning on buying a drill press for woodworking primarily, but may occasionally use it on metal. Any opinions on brand and model?

I have a Jet 17" floor model. It vibrates and has unacceptable runout for metal work. I've been told that all I need to do is change the bearings, chuck and belts to fix the problem. I could have had a much better DP for what these modifications will cost.
