Have a Performax 16/32 Plus drum sander. New drive belt wants to creep toward the left. Tried adjusting back and forth, turned the belt around, etc., to no avail. Changed the belt again(since I’d ordered two) and have the same problem. If the belt is tight enough to work, it creeps to the left no matter if the left or the right side is tight. Creeps hard enough to tear up the edge against the little ceramic gadget. Very frustrating. Next step is exorcist, then the hammer. Anyone have any advice?

Tracking issues can be a pain. If it want to go toward one side, tighten the side it's moving towards, don't adjust the other side (only enough to touch).
Rarely are they out so much that they can't be aligned to work.
The fact that either belt or orientation of the belt doesn't change the situation should tell you it's the machine out of alignment (tracking adjustment)
It's been my experience that many tracking problems result from a conveyor belt that is too tight. The way the Performax manual is written encourages us to tighten the "high" side rather than loosen the opposite side.
If slight pressure can cause the belt to slip, the tension is too loose. Tighten it just a little more until you can't easily stop it and it's perfect. It will still seem surprisingly loose.
Also I've found that once a conveyor belt has been over tightened it becomes unevenly stretched and no amount of fiddling will get it to track correctly.
