Hi all,
I have a client who wants a large Red Maple taken down where they are building an animal hospital. They would like to use the wood to make a reception desk, chairs and benches for the new place.
My quandry is getting the wood dry enough to work by this fall.
Finding a commercial kiln willing to take custom work is hard to find.
Does anyone know of kilns near MD. that would do such work?
Thanks!
Tom

Irondog, I don't know if this will help you or not, there is a place in Flintstone, Md. which is right off of Interstate 68. They are Mennonites and they do air drying with large fans. I have bought quite a bit of red oak that they had dryed and never had a problem with the moisture. I don't know if they would do it for you, but knowing as interpriseing those fellows are it wouldn't suprise me. It is Flinstone Lumber Processing Phone # 301-478-3322 or 301-478-2156. A old invoice I have says its kiln-dried lumber by dehumidification. Hope this helps you out and you aren't to far from them. pat
Pat,
