Hi all
I have a strange question here.
I’ve been using drywall screws for ever.
I was wondering the other day, why a course or fine thread.
Any ideas, since it makes no big difference to the drywall.

Jeff: Course dry wall screws are designed to go into wood, and the fine threads are designed for metal studs , mostly in commerical applications.
Jeff,
When using these kinds of screws in woodworking, the coarse threads are best for softwoods and the fine threads for hardwoods. That being said, however, drywall screws can snap fairly easily under some conditions and may not be ideal for hardwoods - especially those with coarse threads.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

Thank you, I knew there had to be a reason.
