Tom,
I liked the pictures of the Dubby you sent to Forestgirl. I am going to build a copy for the other side of the blade. Question: Does the slot for the arc go all the way through? I am planning to use 1/2 inch baltic birch and cut the slot with a T-slot router bit set about 3/8 inch deep. Comments? Suggestions?
George

George,
The slot does go all the way through. Your method sounds like it is a match to their design. I don't have any better ideas.
good luck, Tom.
Dusty, have you looked at In-Line Industries web site yet? The current Dubbies have aluminum fences with slots, a hold-down clamp, and some kind of small-parts hold-down I haven't figured out yet. There's also an owner's manual there.
I picked up all the missing parts for mine today at Ace Hardware. Just have to calibrate and trim, and it's good to go!
Forestgirl,
Thanks for reference. The manual gave me some ideas. I am sure I can build one that will meet my needs as well or better than the commercial one. I will some pictures after I get my "round toit" and make one.
BTW if I am going to use one, what is the correct pronunciation? I have always called it a "doo bee" but perhaps it should be "duh bee."

Yep, short u, Duhbee. Have fun! I was trying to remember how much my winning bid was on that one -- probably not more than about $40. I'm sure the old ones with the wooden fence were a bit less expensive than these newer ones, but still, methinks I did OK!

And then I have a Rockler one I use on occasion.

Yes I do have one. Easier at the time than to try to rout that curve in my current set-up..
I like it when needed..
I still think I like my Incra one like that better. BUT I have to change to my favorite Incra fence...

FG,
My current project is winding up. Next is a copycat Dubby. Can I bug you for some measurements? What are the dimensions of the base? How long is the fence? What is the distance of the pivot to the cut edge and the back edge of the base?
Thanks, GeorgeYou don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing. - Michael Pritchard<!----><!----><!---->

Hi, Dusty, sure! I'll get some mxs for you tonight. I'm on Pacific time, so no guarantees you'll get them before bedtime. ;-)forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
