Was wondering if anyone knows of a Duncan Phyfe dining table plan someware i could purchace, or a magazine with the same info?
Also can anyone tell me if mdf makes a good base for gluing laminate to? Also is water or thinner based contact cement better?
Thanks

For the table, refer to "Reproducing Antique Furniture" by F.H. Gottshall, page 76.The SBN is 0 04749007 1.Very detailed plans in that book.

thanks for the help. Ill check it out
MDF if excellent to glue laminate to. Use solvent based contact cement. If you need to glue edgebanding also, glue the MDF exposed edges twice (spread the glue on the MDF edges only, let it dry 15-20 min, then spread again on the edges and the laminate) The surface of the MDF does not need this treatment, but the edges are too absorbant to make good adhesion in one go.

I will try the mdf on a future project. Thanks for the advice on the edge gluing.
