I am obsessed with this table. While I save to buy a band saw for the lamination I am building the jigs and trying to work out the details. I am stuck at the stretcher and runner dimensions. The stretcher is 3/4 thick and I assume is dovetailed flush with the bottom of the drawer rail. The runners are 5/8 thick. Should not the runners be 3/4 thick also? I found the correction for the leg taper which was missing from the published plans but nothing on this question. Can some one explain? When I calculated the cost of buying enough clamps to glue the lamination I decided to make a negative/positive bending form out of MDF. Any comments on this method of bending? Thanks.

I liked that table when I saw it in the magazine. Wow, was that really a year ago.
I just looked at the plans and, to me, it doesn't look like the thickness of the runner is critical. At 3/4 though, it looks as if it might be convenient to register the runner off the bottom of the drawer rail - presuming, of course the rail is perpendicular to the face.
Good luck with the build!

I drew out the side view of this drawer assy. I think the dimensions are incorrect. If the drawer rails are 3 1/2 wide and a 3/4 stretcher is installed flush with bottom edge that leaves a drawer opening of 2 3/4. the drawer sides are 2 7/8 wide. I do not think the drawer fits. I redrew the assy. with the original 2/78 drawer width and made the runners 9/16 wide allowing 1/16 clearance at the top of the drawer. that also means I need to take 1/16 off of the drawer front to keep the lower edge of the apron and drawer aligned. Any thoughts?
