In issue 209 of FWW you had an article about a miter saw stand. I think I have the same saw that you have which seemed to be a Bosch 4410. In your article you had the dust port from the saw hooked up to a shop vac. Sometime ago, I made a miter saw stand that I had seen on New Yankee Workshop. The biggest problem was dust collection. I had to add a very large catch bucket on the back of the stand to catch the chips and dust from a straight cut as well as ones where the saw was angled at 45 degrees in either direction. I have my Jet dust collector hooked up to a hole in the bottom of the catch bucket.
After reading your article I hooked up my shop vac to the dust port on my miter saw. It got about 50% of the dust but plenty of saw dust flew off the blade into my big ugly bucket. I wonder if your setup gets all of the dust and if so, how does it do that?

50% is Normal
I have never seen a chop saw that collected more than around 50% of the dust through its dust port, the basic design of the saws makes it near impossible to do much better.
I built a chop saw stand for the FWW shop, with dust collection my biggest priority, and it was a large cabinet that more or less enclosed the entire saw, with a pair of large drawers in the base that collected the dust that was trapped by the cabinet walls. The saw itself sat on a pair of crossbars that spanned over the drawers.
Kapex.

I've had the Kapex since it first came out. Amazing adjustability and the DC and quality is what festool is known for.
miter saw dust collection
You might give the ChopShop Saw Hood from FastCap a try. I find that it works very well to keep all the dust right under the saw. A box there collects it nicely. The hood folds up out of the way when I roll my saw/stand back to its niche in my part-garage workshop. Cheaper than a Kapex, but not nearly as desirable.
