I have Delta 50-760 single phase 1.5 hp dust collector and the filter bag is very dirty.I have tried blowing it out with air with no luck I have turned it inside out and beat it against the wall ,no luck.Do I have to replace the filter bag or can it be cleaned ?
wash it
I've had a 2hp DC for 20 years. It was a two cloth bag unit and I fought your problem for ever. I tried blowing it out with a compressor. I hung them on close lines and beat the hell out of them. The only way I ever had any success was throwing the cloth bags in the washing machine and then putting them in the dryer. Wife wasn't too happy. Be sure to clean the lint traps. To be honest that will only last a short while. The bummer is as soon as those bags become the least bit clogged the suction power goes down dramatically. I finally solved the problem by replacing the two cloth bags with a filter canister on top and a plastic bag on the bottom. All the problems gone. Every few times I run it i just spin the built in cleaner brush (on the inside) and it cleans itself. I'd upgrade and chuck the cloth bags. Your breathing way to much dust with those.
