Just wondering if the owners of the Dewalt double bevel miter saw are happy with it. I am curious to know if there are any problems stemming from the dual bevel action of the saw. Is it harder to square up? Does it return to square after bevel cuts. I might be paranoid but I am thinking that it could be a little more apt to move out of square. I appreciate any comments. Thanks-Jay

I do not have a dual compound mitre saw. Mine is a single and it is a Bosch. The stops on it are very positive but can get dust built up on them when cutting bevels so you need to wipe them off before you return it to the stopped position or it will be off slightly. The reason mine is a single is because I wanted a 12" and Bosch doesnt make (or didnt) a dual 12". I also have a radial arm saw so I have dual if I need it, its just not all that portable. I also did not bother with a slider since the RAS does that just fine and my thoughts were that like the RAS, any problem in alignment would be amplified by the slider. I know a lot of folks have dual compound saws with and without sliders and love them. It just wasn't the right choice for me at the time.

It is a darn good saw. I just bought another for my brother. I have been using it since that model came out. At first I thought it was OK, great for cutting tall base. Now I love it. Belt drive so is starts softer than the 705 (which i own and like). The gear box allows you to make cuts no other saw allows. I have found it to be quite accurate. I build stairs, buit-ins, and other finish carpentry work. I can't vouch for longevity but it is a very nice saw.
