Hi Folks, Just wanted to post a recent problem that came up with my DeWalt 735 planer. I’ll start by saying I love this machine.
I put a 3/8th thick piece of ash with a small knot through and the board flew apart and rattled around till I was able to shut it down. After that I was unable to get anything past the infeed roller. Dead in the water.
Called the local service guy first cause I didnt want to blow any warranties by taking it apart and was told my warranty was no longer any good. Reasonable, it was 2 years since I bought it. He said it would cost a max of 272.00 to get it fixed with a 3-4 week turn around.
Long story short I pulled the side cover off and it was simply a busted sprocket. Went online to DeWalt and ordered a few ($3.00 for 4) cause they look like pot metal castings and I may need it again. A very simple fix and it may save u some money. Oh and the DW site is pretty nice. You can get full schematic/parts lists and manuals gratis.
Just FYI for DW735 owners.

Thanks for posting. The DeWalt web site is just about the worst on the net! I'm hoping you can post the url for the parts catalog as the site keeps telling me that the "DW735" can't be found!

Hi, Ya you're right. The site is a bit difficult. I was feeling generous cause I'm a DeWalt devotee but here you go. There are 2 schematics and a parts list for both sections and the manual is there too if you need a copy. I hope I did this right, if not let me know and I'll get it to you.

Thank you very much. I don't think I would ever stumble on it myself. I bookmarked it for sure!

Anytime.
Thank you. Very good to know.
Better life through Zoodles and poutine...
Hi, Gotta ask....Zoodles and poutine? Brian
I mostly post at Cooks Talk and it came from there. The folks there find it disgusting (and perhaps amusing) that I make a breakfast dish with Zoodles, blue cheese, brussel sprouts and raw egg yolks along with some chipolte tobassco. And I have pointed out the benefits of poutine from time to time.So one fine cook there suggested that I use it as a tag line. Obviously it carried over to other forums.Cheers,Peter
