I am thinking about dying some veneer 3 different shades of blue. What is the best way to do this ? someone told me to bleach the veneer first then to stain but I’m not sure

A lot depends on the species of veneer you are working with. If you start with a very light veneer you may not need any bleaching at all. Best first step is to gather some materials and start testing.
There's a good article in issue #276 on using indigo dye to create different shades of blue.
