I am considering purchasing a set of Eagle rail/stile router bits but I do not have any experience with the brand. Eagle is the only company to offer the profile (“Shaker 15 degree) that I am looking for. If anyone has used this brand of bit set I would appreciate any advice you could provide. Thank you in advance, Bill

Hi bszydlo. I have that very profile and I h ave bought bits several times from Eagle America. I have never had a problem and they are among my short list of favorites. I think you will be pleased with them bob
Bill,
I have lots of Eagle bits that I have purchased over the years.
My router bit inventory is pretty much complete, so I don't buy a lot anymore . But during those years when I was accumulating bits, I thought of Eagle as a mid-level quality, mid-price supplier. That is, their bits were better than the cheap imports (but more expensive). And I don't think their quality is quite the same as those at the top level (CMT, Bosch, Amana, Whiteside, for example), but they were less expensive.
So, I generally bought the Eagle offering if it was a bit I needed, but where it was unlikely that I would use that bit repeatedly for production runs.
If you are buying the rail/stile set for a particular project, and you're not sure if it will become a "bread and butter" set in your collection, then I think the Eagle will be fine.
I hope this helps you make a decision.

I too have several bits from them and they are fine. I always go to their catalog first, if I need something that is more than a basic profile. Their prices and service are good. They have a lot of unique profiles and sets. In fact, they invite customers to submit ideas for new profiles.
Years ago they they produced bits under the Byrom name. For about the last 15 years they have sold Whiteside bits, even used the same plastic storage envelope with their own stock number. Many of the profiles are Eagle designs. Eagle started the Price Cutter line of bits about 9 years ago to compete with other imports. If it's a Whiteside profile, check routerbits.com it may be less expensive there.
