Hello All,
I am looking for any suggestions on how to achieve a brushed on lacquer quality finish on maple chairs. I have tried high gloss enamel paint but the finish is too soft.
Thanks,
JW

Are you basing your concern about the softness of enamel on a recently painted piece or after it has fully cured? Good quality and fully cured enamels are usualy pretty hard and durable. There brushing lacquers that you might be able to add pigment to achieve the look you are after. There are also pigmented polyurethanes and lacquers if you can spray the chairs. I would suggest you go talk to the Sherman Williams folks and see what the recommend.
Thanks DougF. I will contact Sherwin Williams.
