Need to edge band some 1/2″ plywood. Would like to use solid wood and am looking at the router bits to do it.
MLCS has 2 styles. One is a v-groove that I have seen several outfits offer and the other adds a tongue & groove to the v-groove.
Has anyone used these bits and have an opinion? Any other alternative suggestions? (Also, I want to use the same solution for both 1/2″ and 3/4″ plywood)

If my edge banding is 1/8" thick, I just glue it to the edge, period. If the banding is wider and will be routed with decoration later, I glue it on with shope made splies from 1/8" or 3/16" plywood for the splines. Solid wood could also be used, but strength will require the grain of the solid spline to run perpendicular to the grain of the banding.
These methods have survived the "test of time" and don't require purchasing anything. Just use your table saw or a slot cutter in a router.
A total waste of money for such bits not too mention an extreme waste of time in using such bits.
Just glue it directly on the plywood. No need for fancy router bits. I'd be all done before you even ordered the router bits. It's what we have been doing in the commercial shops for years. Veneer tape and edgebanders is the other way. Iron on veneer tape for quick work. We also had a Hess edge press. Basically it had a platen to heat the band material up, we typically used 3/4" to 1/2" banding. Plain old yellow glue was used and it was clamped up. In one minute you could take it out of the clamp.
