I am making someone a cutting board, using some hard maple I have. The dimensions of the maple is 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. I wanted to make the board 3/4″ thick with 1″ laminations. The only way to do that, is to resaw the board in half, and rip to 1″ with the face grain up.
Does it really matter, on a butcher block style cutting board, if its edge grain or face grain exposed?
Thanks
Dave
