Hi – I am making a low TV cabinet/liquor cabinet. Had the opportunity to acquire prefinished and varnished sheet of cherry veneer plywood. Have cut it up and constructed a 2 drawer and 2 door cabinet with cam locks. Have ordered Edgemate cherry banding and gel cherry finish. Will have to either buy solid cherry for top or a 36″ X 22″ unfinished cherry veneer plywood piece. It is not an heirloom piece ! I want to round the edges of the top with a quarter round router bit and was wondering (since I have never used it before) if the Edgement banding would bend to the roundness of the edges. Or would it be simply better to use solid cherry and quarter round it. It is about 6 board feet of 3/4″ material that I would need. Any suggestions?

Your project will last longer and will be easier to built if you attach solid edge banding to you ply. Bending veneer around a 3/8" radius can be done, but not easily without a vacuum bag or contoured clamping cauls.
Good luck!
