I am in the market for an electric stapler, mainly for upholstery. I repair furniture in-home, so I need something reliable. Any suggestions or comments?

I have the Makita 9.6 volt cordless stapler and it works well - but it's a bit heavy and for big jobs I prefer my old Senco J type pneumatic.
Thanks for the input. I need something electric or cordless, as I do not want to lug a pancake compressor into a customers home to place five staples in a loose corner of the fabric. I currently perform in-shop upholstery, but I am branching out to home repair.
Take this with a grain of salt, since I've never owned or even used one...But maybe you should check into carpet staplers. They shoot a fairly narrow-crown staple, and are electric.
Carpet installers use them for cases where the edge of a carpet will meet another floor surface, but there won't be a transition strip. They turn under the edge in a straight line, then staple it down.
Vast projects should not be founded on half vast ideas.
Yes. Duo-Fast. It will cost you $200, but you will end up buying it any way, eventually. I haven't seen a decent one for less money.
You need an extended nose for upholstery, and not too many electric guns come with extended noses. Of the ones I've owned, Duo-Fast is the only really reliable one.
I prefer air powered upholstery staplers in the shop, but the DuoFast will go anywhere, it's quiet, and doesn't need a compressor. A lot of upholstery shops use them.

Thanks for the information. The Duo-Fast name has come up a few times. I have an air powered stapler now, but I want something a little less intrusive for in-home repairs.
