The majority of the use of my Delta planer is for thicknessing multiple parts of less than 3 feet in length. There have been three annoyances in the use of the planer
1. Even with the Delta stand, the work height of the table was 25 inches, meaning lots of stooping to feed or retrieve the pieces
2. My cyclone dust collector is another room some distance from the planer and it’s easy to forget to check the drum frequently enough to prevent it from overfilling the drum, filling the cyclone and filter assembly with chips
3. The small cart I used for storing the work pieces while planing, although vital to the process, was another item for which I had to find a storage spot when not in use, and was frequently a nuisance when not being used.
I finally built an extension box to fit between the Delta stand and the mobile roller base, raising the work height to 37 inches. This is a much more comfortable work height, eliminating a lot of bending over when using the planer. At this height, the outfeed table is high enough that I can locate a garbage can with a separator lid beneath it. Now it’s a simple matter to check the can for being full when I’m planing, and when it fills I can quickly replace it with an empty can and continue working. And the small cart that I use for holding the work pieces now stores beneath the infeed table of the planer, so I’m no longer tripping over it when it’s not in use.

Higher is better. When I first got my planer I put it up on a no longer used router bench and it's still there. I was going to build a more traditional and lower stand but love it at this height. As you said, no bending.
