There was a thread here about miter joint cutting and gluing. I responded on how to reinforce with feathers/keys.
I recently saw a presentation by Marc Adams. For any end grain gluing he suggests applying a thin layer of glue to the end grain and letting it dry. Later apply more glue for clamping. He said the joint would be alot stronger. He quoted a percentage but I can’t remember what he said.
Do any of you guys do this when gluing end grain.

I do. I use thinned (50/50) water and glue and have it soak into the end grain. I let it dry at least 15 minutes before glueing and clamping the joint. I can't offer numbers or %better, but the idea makes sense since end grain will soak up glue and otherwise starve the joint. Sizing with glue just seems to make sense.
