Yup. Don't let SWMTMH see it or I'll be in BIG trouble!
Nice looking piece.
I've re-sized your photo for the dialup folks.
Yes, give up your day job. Nice piece. I'll not be showing this to my wife.

Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.
Very nice work. One comment about the base. I would have either given it a baseboard to "ground" it or "lifted" it ac ouple inches on a leg or foot, just enough to show some space underneath.

On the other hand... those of us who have alergies like a solid base against the floor. It is a good looking unit, though I may have made the curve on the top facia piece start closer to the sides and have a flater arch (did that make sense?). That's what's great about making our own furniture - it is OUR aesthetic, not anyone else's. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Radrays,
That is a very nice looking piece.
I don't know how to put this just so eloquently without making it sound like I'm knocking your work. Feel kinda bad saying this. I am by no means a professional woodworker/cabinetmaker/furnituremaker.
If you had to do this piece over again, would you do some things different?
Hindsight is 20/20. I tend to shy away from inset doors. Getting an equal reveal all the way around is a real pain. Also, having doors meet like that in the middle without a (ship) lap or an astragal is stressful.
So that's my two suggestions. PLEASE don't everyone FLAME because I gave some advice.
Radrays was courageous enough to post a picture of his work and invite some honest input. He and the Mrs should be very proud of their entertainment center.
I think you did an excellent job. But my taste wants it to be lifted up a bit to establish the "bottom end". Short legs or an apron would give the bottom edge the finish that the top section does for the top.

Thanks for your input to my entertainment center. Do you have a suggestion for a base apron that I could add at this time? I could certainly add a small piece of trim on the bottom (which is 3 1/2" high).
I want to thank you all for your comments. This was my first big project and I really needed comments for future projects. It was really fun to build and I learned a lot from building it.
