I have been looking for some old hand planes to restore and found this at an estate sale last week! Did a little restoring and could use some help identifying it. Measures 9 1/4″ long x 2 1/8″ wide. 

The blade says defiance so maybe is a Stanley Defiance? But I know some of these old planes have been frankensteined together. Only marking on the plane body says Made in USA. I’d be curious about an approximate year too if anyone knows or has a good guess.
